Poinsettia & Ginger Zinger

< Back to COCKTAILS & MOCKTAILS page

Adapted from Nigella’s recipes, these two drinks are perfect for Christmas Day prinks. The children feel included, especially if you serve them in the same type of flute glasses. Don’t get the alcoholic Poinsettia mixed up with the non-alcoholic Ginger Zinger otherwise, you’ll get very drunk children and short-changed Mums!

POINSETTIA

Serves 10
75cl bottle chilled Prosecco * 125ml (4 floz) Cointreau or Grand Marnier * 500ml (1 pint) cranberry juice, chilled * fresh pomegranates, for serving

Pour all the liquid ingredients into a larger pitcher and serve in champagne flutes. Plop pomegranate seeds into each glass.

GINGER ZINGER

To make 10 glasses:
750ml (24 floz) ginger ale * 1.15ltr (1 pint) cranberry juice * ice cubes * slice of lime zest

Pour all the ingredients into a larger pitcher and serve in champagne flutes. Serve with a zest of lime.
