Mango & Banana Smoothie

This smoothie is lovely and filling. It is perfect for you if you are suffering or recovering from a cold and flu. The vitamin C in both the mango and bananas will help you recover, combating the virus. Even if you don’t have a cold, it is perfect to keep your immune system working well.

MANGO is an excellent source of beta-carotene, the precursor to the anti-viral vitamins A and C for good overall immune function.

BANANAS contain high amounts of rutin, a compound that complements the activity of vitamin C, and helps to maintain strong, flexible blood vessels. Rutin also possesses antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.

Serves 1
1 mango, peeled, stoned and sliced * 1 banana, peeled and sliced * 85ml (3 floz) orange juice * 1tsp ground ginger * 1 tsp lemon juice

Whizz all the ingredients together in a blender until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately.
