Blueberry & Raspberry Smoothie

This is a wonderfully sweet, yet sharp smoothie which is full of anti-oxidants. It was the smoothie of choice when my husband was recovering from his cancer treatment and I have made it for him ever since. He loves it.

BLUEBERRIES contain the antioxidant anthocyanins, which strengthen blood capillaries, improve circulation and help the transport of nutrients around the body. They are rich in tannins, which fight the bacteria that can cause urinary tract infections.

RASPBERRIES are rich in antioxidants and flavonoids, which help to neutralise toxic free radicals. They are high in ellagic acid, a known chemopreventive to help prevent cancer, and have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Serves 1
255g (9oz) blueberries * 115g (4oz) raspberries or other summer berries * 125ml (4 floz) plain bio-yoghurt * 1 tsp honey

Whizz all the ingredients together in a blender. Add crushed ice, if the weather is wonderfully hot!
